Weatherbeeta Thermo-Cell Cooler

I've had my Weatherbeeta Thermo-Cell cooler for about seven years now, but it's had little use until recently. With working Louie on a night indoors, it can become a bit hot, and although fully clipped before I got him, Louie has sweat patches on his neck, girth and saddle area. This is where this rug really comes in use.

After riding, I pop this on him, it keeps him warm, but wicks away the sweat. After 10-15 minutes, Louie is dry and ready to put his normal stable rugs on.

It's also proven invaluable for use after riding in the rain/sleet. After Sunday's showjumping lesson, Louie (& I!) was quite wet. Untacking before coming home, and putting this rug on to travel in meant that by the time I reached home, Louie was toasty warm, and dry, apart from his mane.

When the rug is working, you can physically see it. The rug begins to get tiny beads of water on the outer surface, which if left, will evaporate as the horse maintains his own temperature.

In terms of sizing, I have a 6'6, which is large for Louie in the shoulder, but in terms of chest to tail length is only a touch too long. I've contemplated repurchasing for a 6'3, but I think as Louie fills out, he'll soon fit into the 6'6.

While it's not the cheapest cooler, it is the best one I've used in the winter and cooler times of the year. It's RRP is around £60-70, although I've spotted at Naylor's Equestrian, it's got a super discount - down to just £39.99, but no stock levels are showing. However, I'm not sure if Weatherbeeta still make this product as it's not available on their website directly.
